Here in San Francisco, where savvy restaurant-goers are accustomed to the best, Le Soleil delivers the sophisticated flavors of Vietnam, in a charming Richmond District setting, at affordable prices. San Francisco Focus Magazine named Le Soleil “Best Vietnamese”; the Zagat Guide praises its “fresh, flavorful cuisine” and “exquisite dishes.” Chef-owner Dennis Wong was born in Saigon, Vietnam and came to San Francisco in 1980. Wong learned to cook by working in various Bay Area restaurants. In 1983, he opened his own Thai Cafe on Geary Boulevard in San Francisco. He started his second restaurant, Le Soleil, featuring authentic Vietnamese cuisine on Clement Street in 1993. His wife Annie has managed his business since the beginning.
Le Soleil’s varied menu offers many unique house specialties. From the Imperial Rolls - stuffed with mince pork and shrimp - to the Quail - flambéed, with rum sauce - to the Garlic Noodles with Prawns, to the cool and crunchy Fried Ice Cream and silken Crème Caramel desserts, every bite brings exciting flavors and textures.
Wine by the glass and bottle, beers from three continents, and, of course, Vietnamese-style coffee, complement the menu to perfection.
